悪質なデマ宣伝と変節者を許すのか!

いよいよthe Presidential Election Dayが目前に迫った。Obama, Romney両候補ともOhio, Floridaなどswing statesの票取りに最後のバトルだ。
連日,Obama for Americaのキャンペーン幹部やBarack, Michelle自身から当方に資金カンパの依頼ﾒｰﾙが届く。当日の投票はもとより、知人・友人へのObama支持のオルグまで求めてくる。
ボクのことを在日米国人と本気で思い込んでいるメディアさえある。何とも頭が痛い。
両候補とも莫大な金をTV広告に投下、相手候補に対するnegative ad.に費やしている。子供番組のなかにも頻繁にインサートされ、子供が不愉快で泣き出す始末だ。

特にRomney陣営は度を超えている。negative ad.どころではない。Floridaでは、「キューバのカストロ議長、ベネズエラのチャべス大統領がObama支持」などと、中南米系州民の反共意識を刺戟。揚げ句の果てには「Obamaの再選を許せば税金が妊娠中絶に使われる」といった内容の携帯メールを相手構わず送信。悪質なデマ宣伝、虚偽のコマーシャルに狂奔。DP支持の多い地域に当日の投票を妨害する看板まで建てる。キャンペーンでの訴えも陳腐なObama批難のくり返しだ。穏健派のRomneyが何故こうまで超保守タカ派に傾いているのか。背後にうごめくTea Partyに擦り寄らざるを得ないからだ。


それにしても東海岸に圧し掛かったハリケーンSandyのaftermath、爪あとは想像を絶する。NY市の下町は大火災や停電も重なり悲惨。




予定されていたNYマラソンを中止したMichael R. Bloomberg市長が返す刀で“A Vote for a President to Lead on Climate Change”と意思表示--フランケン・ストームSandyの襲来も気候変動によるもの。地球温暖化に関心を寄せ、然るべき政策を打ち出す候補を支持する旨を表明した---


"When I step into the voting booth, I think about the world I want to live my two daughters, and the values that are required to guide us there. The two parties' nominees for president offer different visions of where they want to lead America.・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・"


One sees climate change as an urgent problem that threatens our planet;
one does not. I want our president to place scientific evidence and risk management above electoral policies."
"......If President Obama listens to people on both sides of the aisle,
and builds the trust of moderates, he can fulfill the hope he inspired four years ago and lead our country a better future for my children and yours. And that's why I will be voting for him."
Barack Obamaの再選のため一票を投じると言うBloomberg NY市長の声明の影響力は少なくない。

他方、同市長はMitt Romneyの変節ぶりを批判---
" In the past Mitt Romney has also taken sensible on immigration, illegal guns, abortion rights and health care. But he has reversed course on all of them, and even running against the health-care model he signed into law in Massachusetts"
大阪のH市長じゃないが、超富豪の元州知事がThe White Houseの主になるなど考えたくない。
