U.S.を切り裂くTrumpism

President-elect Trumpの言動が気がかりだ。TPPからの撤退宣言は予想されたが、何を言い出すかわからない。"Potential Conflicts Around the Globe for Trump the Businessman "(The NYT. com)の通り、世界の問題児となる可能性大だ。
大統領選得票結果の最終集計結果がどうなるか?

今なお燻っているなかで、Hillary Clintonが圧勝したCalifornia州では、合衆国からの独立(Calexit)を目指してanti-Trump運動が盛り上がっている。GDPが全米の1割を占める同州だけに、”American Taxpayers Won't Have To bail Out California's Ticking Pension Time Bomb" と鼻息が荒い。
他方、不気味なのは極右組織Alternative Right (Alt-Right)の暗躍だ。その正体は次により明らかだ--

The Alternative Right, commonly known as the Alt-Right, is a set of far-right ideologies, group and individuals whose core belief is that "white identity" is under attack by multicultural forces using "political correctness" and "social justice" to undermine white people and "their" civilization. Characterized by heavy use of social media and online memes, Ait-Righters eschew "establishment" conservatism, skew young, and embrace white ethno-nationalism as a fundamental value.(一般的にはAlt-Right＜もう一つの右翼＞として知られる極右思想を持つグループや個人のこと。その核心となる思想は、白人の主体性がポリティカル・コレクトネスや社会的公正さを武器とした多文化パワーの攻撃に晒され、白色人種とその文明が侵食されていると捉えている点にある。彼らは、盛んにソーシャル・メデイアやオンラインツールを駆使するのが特徴であり、既成の保守主義を遠ざけ、若者を洗脳し、白色人種ナショナリズムに原理的価値を見出し、信奉する)

web siteに流されたこの白人優位主義の極右組織Alt-Rightの集会シーンに仰天。Heil Hitlerを真似てHeil Trump(トランプ万歳!）とナチ式敬礼。人権団体などから批判が高まり「このよう組織は支持しない」とDonald Trump。だが、トランプが大統領首席戦略官兼上級顧問に起用予定のSteve BannonはかつてAlt- Right運動を牽引したオンラインニュースサイトBreitbart(保守系ラジオ放送)の前会長だったというから縁は切れない。

Trumpismは米国をどこへ向かわせるのか?
ジャーナリストでNYTのコラムニストThomas Friedmanが、友人であるLesley Goldwasserから数年前に忠告されたという--"You Americans kick around your country like it's football. But it's not a football. It's a Faberge egg. You can break it."(米国民は自国をまるでフットボールのように乱暴に扱っている。壊れやすいイースター・エッグのようなものなのに』

Goldwasserは80年代にZimbabweから米国にやってきた移民。現在、独立系投資銀行GleensLedgeの代表取締役社長をやっている。
そのFreedmanがThe NYTに寄稿した11/8日付コラムHomeless in America(米国に居場所がない)は一読の価値がある----

"With Donald Trump now elected president, I have more fear than i've ever had in my 63 years that could do just that--break our country, that we could become so irreparably divided that our national government will not function."(トランプの勝利に、私は63年の人生で最も強い怖れを覚えている。政府が機能不全に陥るほど社会が分断されるのではないかと)
"But Donald Trump cannot be a winner unless he undergoes a radical change in personality and politics and become everything that he was not in this campaign. He has to become a healer instead of a divider; a compulsive truth-teller rather than compulsive liar;---(が、トランプ氏は人格や政策を抜本t的に変え、選挙期間中と全く違う人間にならない限り勝者にはなり得ない。分断の代わりに癒しを与えるべきだし、衝動的な嘘の代わりに真実を語らなければならない。・・)
